Role Overview
Perform all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide
Prepare and apply special stains and techniques
Perform frozen section procedures accurately and efficiently
Maintain files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards
Clean and maintain equipment and instruments
Stock and maintain supplies
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Technical Program Completion or Associate’s Degree in Histotechnology
Experience
Laboratory-related experience preferred
Frozen section experience required
Licensure/Certification
ASCP Certified Histotechnician
ASCP Certified Technologist in Chemistry
