Base pay range $45,081.00/yr - $55,322.00/yr
Description Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be involved in the treatment of residents. Responsibilities include:
Administering certain medications
Observing residents and reporting changes in their condition
Taking and recording temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Obtaining specimens for analysis
Preparing and applying simple dressings
Bathing and feeding residents
Providing care for residents and their quarters—including making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving residents, and caring for their personal effects
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Batavia employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent‑permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to Grade 8 or above, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Licensed Practical Nurse.
License and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with long‑term care experience.
Additional Comments One permanent, competitive full‑time appointment, or non‑competitive full‑time appointment via HELPS.

Posted salary range ($45,081‑$55,322) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 10, plus a geographic pay differential of $4,000.
If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
