Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Crisis Services
Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position with overnight shift at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board.
Annual Salary:
$51,253
with a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:30 am with rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the staff psychiatrist in prescribing, administering, and monitoring medications for clients.
Conduct routine physical and mental health nursing assessments.
Provide supportive counseling and monitor medical needs.
Administer methadone when necessary.
Conduct intake and follow-up interviews, complete physical assessments, and perform drug and TB testing.
Maintain detailed documentation and ensure secure storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
Required Qualifications:
Current and valid Virginia State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
At least one year of experience in medication administration, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric care, or long-term care settings.
Valid Virginia Driver's License.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering narcotic medications.
Background in long-term care facilities.
