Overview Innovative Therapy Concepts (ITC) is a Physical Therapist owned and operated therapy management organization founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We partnered with Texas Orthopedics in 2020 to manage their therapy services. ITC seeks a Physical Therapist to elevate patient experience, practicing in an outpatient orthopedic setting with diverse surgical and non-operative patients.

Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.

Reviews Physician's referral and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.

Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.

Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.

Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.

Administers therapeutic exercises to improve strength, ROM, flexibility, and cardiovascular function.

Instructs, motivates and assists patient to perform various physical activities to achieve functional goals.

Instructs patient to use supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, prostheses.

Administers treatments involving application of physical agents.

Applies modalities such as hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, TNS, and dry needling.

Evaluates effects of treatment, adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

Administers massage.

Administers traction to relieve pain.

Records treatment, response, and progress in patient chart or computer.

Instructs patient and family in home treatment procedures.

Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommends modifications to Orthotist.

Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy with other aspects of care.

Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, techs, and students.

Plans and conducts lectures and training programs for medical staff, students, and community groups.

Plans and develops physical therapy research programs and participates in conducting research.

Consults and practices with professionals such as physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position can include supervising Physical Therapy Assistants or Techs in some situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have an active and current Physical Therapist License in the state of practice. Must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination and fulfill state requirements such as jurisprudence exam.

Other Qualifications Must be willing to work occasional weekend shifts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate patients and families. Compassionate with desire to help patients.

Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle; reach, talk, hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Must frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and more than 100 pounds with assistance. Requires close, distance, depth vision and focus adjustment.

Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally vibration; noise moderate.

Education And/or Experience Master’s degree (M.A.) or Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physical Therapy.
