Job Summary: The Sr Classification Analyst is responsible for performing advanced analysis and classification of goods and technologies under U.S. and international trade regulations. This role ensures compliance with all relevant import/export laws, working closely with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies to minimize risk and maintain operational effectiveness. This role supports Elbit Systems of America’s regulatory compliance capabilities by ensuring accurate classification, documentation, and reporting, and acts as a subject matter expert for classification queries and projects.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Independently classify products, components, software, and technology under applicable U.S. and global trade regulations (HTS, ECCN, ITAR, etc.)
Prepare and submit required documentation to government agencies as needed
Lead complex audits and investigations of trade compliance issues, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for divisions on classification, licensing, and documentation requirements.
Support training and development for team members on classification and trade compliance topics.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (Legal, Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management) to gather information and ensure compliant classification.
Monitor regulatory changes, assess business impacts, and support the implementation of updated controls and procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the trade compliance function.
Act as the primary point of contact for classification-related inquiries, both internally and externally
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
Experience using classification tools and databases
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Education, Experience & License or Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
5+ years’ experience in trade compliance, with strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (HTS, ECCN, ITAR, EAR)
Demonstrated experience with product and technology classification in a technology or defense company
