Position Summary The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as:
ASCI 1 – Intro to Animal Science
ASCI 31 – Swine Production
ASCI 35 – Feeds and Feeding
ASCI 61 – Dairy Cattle Production
ASCI 101 – Environment Mgmt of Farm Animals
ASCI 125 – Animal Genetics
ASCI 146 – Physiology of Lactation
ASCI 161 – Adv. Dairy Farm Mgmt
ASCI 164 – Adv. Commercial Dairy Mgmt Eval
ASCI 181 – Adv Lvstk, Meat, Dairy Eval
ASCI 185T – Topics in Animal Science
CSM 10 – The Scientific Method
or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.
Instructor Responsibilities Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to university and system-wide policies. Instructors are responsible for preparing, delivering, conducting, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester.
Compensation Salary range for a Master’s degree holder is $5,507–6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually at the minimum of the range and will be adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated Semester Positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Animal Sciences or closely related field.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and prior teaching experience or evidence.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Teaching evaluations or other evidence of.
Ability to engage with students beyond the classroom.
