Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing actual production costs to standard costs.
Conduct detailed variance analysis, explaining differences in material, labor, and overhead costs.
Manage inventory valuation, ensuring accurate costing of inventory movements and balances.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process, specifically for cost of goods sold and manufacturing expenses.
Identify and report on cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements.
Assist in month‑end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of dedicated cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
In‑depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with specific ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Cost Management).
Proven experience with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for cost analysis and reporting.
Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel, including VBA.
Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
