Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Snowmaking Foreman to lead daily operations and maintenance of our snowmaking systems on Bald and Dollar Mountains. This role supports both winter and summer operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality snowmaking while managing a team of up to 25 employees.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control inventory
Monitor cleanliness, efficiency, and organization of all maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance on the snowmaking system
Troubleshoot operational issues during winter and summer operations
Work closely with all Mountain Departments
Be a positive influence at all times
Maintain a culture of safety at all times
Assist the Department Manager in hiring, training, supervising personnel, employee reviews, budgeting, planning maintenance, and a variety of other tasks
Attend Mountain Department meetings and occasionally act as an intermediary for the Department Manager
Qualifications
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
Previous experience with automated snowmaking systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and safety practices.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Ability to work in varied and adverse weather conditions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
