Job Description JOB TITLE: HR Generalist

DEPARTMENT: Talent & Culture

LED BY: Namita Eveloy, Director of Talent & Culture

HOURS: The periods mentioned below are approximate and may vary based on the needs of the team. 20-40 hours per week.

January 20 - March 13th 20 hours a week

March 2 - May 11th 40 hours per week

May 14 - July 13: 20 hours per week.

The HR Generalist will play an integral role as a member of the People ensuring the TC/HR programs and offerings are delivered successfully. This role will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee engagement and Human Resources, therefore impact employee experience in a multitude of ways.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Acquisition

Develop and create a great employee and candidate experience as a part of the SHH recruiting This will include managing internal candidates and external candidates through the hiring process.

Partner with the hiring managers to create a recruiting plan for each opening, discussing potential internal candidates, and critical skills needed for the role.

Advocate for qualified candidates and coach leaders through the selection process.

Managing requisitions from start to finish: posting positions and pulling reports using the ADP system, screening interviews, scheduling hiring manager and panel interviews,

Ensuring pre-hire processes including background checks are completed and candidates are cleared for starting employment.

Human Resources

Operate as a direct point-of-contact for leaders and employees seeking clarification or HR collaboration regarding any HR process and/or procedure.

Partners with leaders on employee relations, coaching, employee development and employee engagement.

Talent Development

Coordinate logistics of training sessions and large meetings.

Develop surveys, handouts for leadership development, talent routines and other trainings to support the team Manager and Director.

Maintain organizational calendar which includes training and organization wide events.

Support the administration of the employee engagement survey, run reports and develop presentations.

Additional duties as assigned.

Must Have:

Demonstrated experience in general HR support (generalist or HRBP), Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Staffing Agency or related field.

Ability to leverage strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills to relate effectively with employees and leaders.

Strong reasoning, analytical, problem-solving kills

Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict

Ability to consult with leaders through strong business acumen and presence and demonstrates situational adaptability.

Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and follow through on multiple daily tasks and projects.

Proven ability to utilize business technology, including computer hardware and software.

Proven efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, HRIS and ATS systems required, ADP preferred.

Knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws.

Nice to Have:

SHRM and/or HRCI certifications valued but not required.

Bilingual in other languages highly desired (Spanish, Somali, Hmong).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and experience attained through a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Proven experience in general HR support (ideally 2 years as a generalist or HRBP)

Attention to details such as training registrations, editing documents, reviewing materials, etc.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Advanced skills in PowerPoint and creating professional quality slides are highly desirable.

Experience administering databases and running reports.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a corporate environment or across diverse industries.

Familiarity with multimedia tools and technologies for content creation (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, Multimeter).

Proficiency in administering databases and/or learning management systems (LMS).

Experience with mission driven organizations is desirable.

Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
