Responsibilities

Fulfills routine duties related to the efficient operation of the three lab facilities: the main lab, the hood lab, and the fish lab, including purchasing chemicals and supplies, maintaining equipment, instruments, and sample tools, and updating safety related documents.

Assists the research project of metal biogeochemistry in H-02 constructed wetland, including field sampling, sample processing, chemical analysis, and data management.

Assists graduate students and postdocs with ongoing research.

Manages data used to prepare reports to funding agencies on research activities associated with projects on which he/she is involved.

Position Summary The technician would help with a variety of both laboratory and field tasks related to research on the biogeochemistry, bioavailability, and bioaccumulation of metals in aquatic ecosystems. Specific tasks would include field collection of samples, laboratory processing of samples for chemical analysis, assisting with current students’ experiments, and routine duties related to the efficient operation of our laboratory facilities. The position is full-time with flexibility in work hours.

Physical Demands Lifting 50lbs, sitting/standing/walking, carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling/reaching, keyboarding, gross/fine manipulation, driving, stooping/crouching/kneeling, speaking/hearing.
