$59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Design, fabricate, repair, and modify precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.

Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and CAD models.

Perform precise measurements and inspections using a variety of metrology instruments.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair tooling malfunctions to minimize production downtime.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for tool fabrication.

Recommended Qualifications

Completion of a recognized Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or equivalent formal training.

Proven proficiency in operating a wide range of manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).

Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Skilled in using various precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs) to ensure part quality.

Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties relevant to tool manufacturing.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.

Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAM software for complex surface modeling or multi‑axis programming.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to tool design improvements or DFM initiatives.
