Summary of Position The Shift Leader assists the Assistant Manager and General Manager with management activities and duties, ensuring all activities support the restaurant’s business plan. The Shift Leader ensures all team members are performing their responsibilities and meeting expectations.
Essential Duties
Take necessary action to ensure all hospitality service is outstanding; anticipate and exceed guest needs; handle situations and requests immediately in a positive manner.
Effectively "path" the restaurant to monitor all aspects of operations to anticipate problems; take initiative to correct problem areas immediately.
Consistently enforce and maintain all quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
Monitor and maintain proper staffing levels and labor costs.
Create a friendly atmosphere for team members and guests.
Train and provide direction and supervision for team members.
Support efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs.
Plan, organize, and implement all operational routines and activities during your shift.
Maintain a cooperative, harmonious relationship with management and fellow team members.
Ensure all sanitation, safety and security policies and procedures are observed and enforced.
Maintain personal appearance that meets company standards and displays professionalism at all times.
Recognize and adhere to all HR, sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures to provide a safe and compliant environment.
Perform other tasks as directed by management.
Physical Requirements
Stand for long periods of time.
Work around high temperatures.
Work around others in close quarters.
Able to lift 50 pounds comfortably.
Work with various cleaning products.
Experience
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
Must have reliable transportation and a method of communication (e.g., phone or email).
