Overview We are looking for energetic and motivated partners to join our team. As a Perishable Representative, you will keep the department well-stocked and maintain exceptional customer service. This is a part-time overnight position located at the Copperas Cove Market.
Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service throughout the department.
Take orders from customers by telephone or in person.
Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections.
Prepare, package, slice, label, and merchandise fresh products daily.
Ensure compliance with H‑E‑B food safety and sanitation standards.
Maintain department appearance – clean and sanitize display cases, rotate products, and keep coolers/freezers at correct temperatures.
Operate and maintain equipment, including Telxon, label machines and power meat prep equipment.
Use suggestive selling techniques to build department sales and make announcements about fresh items.
Assist in technical areas as needed and support other departments (Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, Seafood) when required.
Qualifications
Minimum age 18.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.
Prior customer service experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment and stay attentive to customer needs.
Computer system knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine) or ability to learn quickly.
Planning and organizing skills.
Physical Demands
Constantly reach at waist, frequently walk, stand, pivot; occasionally reach overhead or at shoulder.
Frequently lift up to 90 lbs (market) or 50 lbs (seafood) and manage in excess of that weight.
Exposed to wet, cold conditions; occasionally hot conditions or loud noise.
Bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, twist, pinch, and perform fine‑motor movements as required.
