Maintenance Manager at Food Manufacturing Company - San Diego, CA
Salary:
$135,000–$145,000 + 20% STI Bonus
Overview The Maintenance Manager leads plant maintenance operations to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production performance. This role oversees all mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance while driving preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead maintenance operations for production equipment, utilities, and facilities
Manage preventive maintenance programs, CMMS, and parts inventory
Schedule and prioritize maintenance work to support production
Coach and develop maintenance staff; promote a reliability-focused culture
Coordinate shutdowns, capital projects, and plant improvements
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and improve performance
Qualifications
Associate’s degree with 3+ years maintenance management experience, or 5+ years progressive maintenance experience
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge (PLC, HVAC, boilers, chillers)
CMMS and MRO experience required
Ammonia refrigeration and food manufacturing experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
