Registered Nurse II – PRN Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – MUSC Health
Job Summary / Purpose:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health‑care team to achieve desired results.

Minimum Training and Education:
Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
Active registered‑nurse licence issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Required:
BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) or AHA‑equivalent; alternatively, American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors/outside, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, while kneeling, bending at the waist, twisting, squatting, pinching, performing gross and fine motor activities, reaching overhead, or using protective equipment such as latex. Ability to lift, carry, and move patients up to 50 lbs unassisted, or lift lower‑weight objects from floor or overhead. Requires 20/40 corrected vision, color discrimination, depth perception, peripheral vision, hearing acuity, and tolerance for stressful situations. Must work rotating shifts, overtime as required, and maintain a latex‑safe environment.
