Our 12‑month Sales Trainee Program (STP) offers early‑career professionals a chance to accelerate a career in sales through rotations, workshops, and coaching.

Program Overview The program includes three phases: Learn, Shadow, and Develop.
Learning Focus
Participate in workshops and training sessions to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.
Engage in learning opportunities that cover products, services, sales techniques and processes.
Shadowing
Observe experienced sales professionals to learn client interactions, strategies and negotiation techniques.
Watch the sales process from prospecting through closing and post‑sale support.
Development
Seek feedback from mentors, supervisors and peers.
Participate in evaluations to track progress and set goals.

Program Graduation Upon successful completion, graduates transition to a sales destination role based on individual preferences and business needs.
Responsibilities
Support the sales team with tasks such as outlining project tasks and timelines, prospecting new leads, and handling customer inquiries.
Assist in developing sales proposals, contracts, and other closing documentation.
Coordinate tasks and track progress for sales projects and initiatives.
Engage with customers to understand needs, address inquiries, and provide product information.
Capture customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
Take initiative to learn new sales techniques, tools, and technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 1–3 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Strong desire to work in a sales‑focused role and learn about products, services and sales technologies at Ferguson.
Self‑motivated with a track record of results.
Customer‑oriented and able to address customer needs effectively.
Flexible and open to change.
Previous professional experience or internships in sales preferred.
