Systems Administrator – Information Technology Specialist I

$6,513.00 – $10,537.00 per month (new to State candidates receive the minimum salary for the classification)

Overview The Information Technology Specialist I will support the Bimodal Support Unit. Responsibilities include designing, developing, configuring, customizing, and integrating technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Tableau, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, and providing day‑to‑day maintenance and operations support.
Major Functions
Administer and support CI/CD pipelines and Application Life‑Cycle Management tools in alignment with the SDLC.
Install, configure, and manage SDLC tools—code repositories, version control, requirements management, and application performance monitoring.
Resolve complex technical problems for the development team.
Establish technical specifications, perform systems analysis, and develop performance standards.
Lead or advise IT staff through all phases of the system development life cycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Lead enterprise‑scale IT projects involving cross‑functional teams and integration of multiple platforms with SDLC tools.

Minimum Requirements Minimum qualifications are outlined in the Class Specification for the Information Technology Specialist I. Applicants must meet the Education, License, or Certificate minimums and provide required documentation such as transcripts or diplomas.
Working Conditions Position located at 1500 5th Street, Sacramento, CA. The employee works in a climate‑controlled, artificial‑light office on a personal computer. Travel may be required; a state vehicle will be provided if available. Valid driver’s license required for state‑vehicle operation.
Occasional weekend or after‑hours work and telework may be requested based on operational needs.

Desirable Qualifications
Hands‑on experience administering enterprise platforms such as Tableau, Jira, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
Proficiency in scalable software design, root‑cause analysis, and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, translation of technical concepts, and end‑user training.
Ability to coordinate and deliver technical solutions under tight deadlines.
