Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, in our Birth Center, you will provide direct professional nursing care for maternal and newborn patients by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills. Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care. Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization. This position provides age‑specific and developmentally appropriate care for neonate, adolescent, and adult patients.
Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: RN ASN, $42.27–$62.17; RN BSN, $43.97–$64.66; RN MSN, $45.72–$67.24. These ranges reflect the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
Assesses patient’s condition based upon observation, examination, and / or interview, laboratory findings, and other pertinent information
Identifies and consistently recognizes changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient’s physiological and psychological condition.
Uses professional judgement and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient’s plan of care consistent with patient assessment data and physician’s treatment plans and professional standards of evidence-based practice.
Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing patient’s plan of care, provides supervision and guidance.
Implements nursing interventions to achieve progress toward expected patient outcomes or to stabilize a patient’s condition and / or prevent complications.
Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, starting intravenous fluids and blood products.
Performs all technical skills required for unit patient population such as, but not limited to IV venipuncture, restraint application, sterile dressings, etc.
Evaluates and documents patient’s response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, and / or contacts physicians as circumstances require.
Provides and documents patient / family education based on diagnosis, treatment plan or prescribed medical regimen in accordance with patient / family readiness and ability to learn.
Qualifications
Current RN licensure with the MN Board of Nursing
Current BLS/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 6 mo, company paid)
Current ACLS Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 mo, company paid)
Current NRP Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 mo, company paid)
Current STABLE Certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 yr, company paid)
Basic Electronic Fetal Monitoring (or willingness to obtain within 6 mo, company paid)
RN experience in OB/Labor and Delivery, preferred
Schedule and Hours
48–72 hours per two‑week pay period, FTE will be determined and agreed upon at hire
Day/Night shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Every third weekend and rotating holidays
