Job Description & Duties Under the supervision of Chief Engineer II, the incumbent performs various types of semi–skilled manual tasks and functions such as heavy manual labor, installation, alteration, maintenance, repair of equipment, fixtures, buildings, facilities and other duties as required. The incumbent performs miscellaneous laboring work in connection with the maintenance of state facilities. Priorities are set and the incumbent is expected to coordinate the necessities to accomplish the function.
Responsibilities
Heavy manual labor
Installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of equipment, fixtures, buildings and facilities
Miscellaneous laboring work in connection with state facility maintenance
Coordinate and prioritize tasks to accomplish assigned functions
Qualifications
Eligibility for hire determined by score on the Building Maintenance Worker exam
Must be on the state examination list or eligible for appointment (transfer, permissive reinstatement, voluntary demotions, new to state)
Must provide current evidence of qualifications; unofficial transcripts or diplomas may be required for verification
Minimum Requirements
BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER (class specification)
Working Conditions The incumbent may be required to work on and from a boat servicing the Toll Bridge from the water at times, and work at heights at times.
Salary $4,292.00—$5,630.00 per month (Class A: $4,292.00—$5,145.00; Class B: $4,710.00—$5,630.00)
