Position Summary:
Assistant Teaching Professor
at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. The Department of Mathematics seeks applications for two teaching positions available beginning September 2026, subject to the availability of funding. Teaching Load: 4-4 (four undergraduate mathematics courses in each of the fall and spring semesters), with possible teaching reductions for administrative, advising, or other departmental duties.
Responsibilities: Applicants should have received a Ph.D. and show outstanding evidence of teaching at the undergraduate level. Ideally, candidates will have had at least three years teaching experience by the time the position starts.
Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience: A Ph.D. in Mathematics, or equivalent, is preferred; a BA in Mathematics or related field is required. Certifications/Licenses: Not required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Outstanding undergraduate teaching experience; ability to cover multiple courses; willingness to serve in departmental duties.
Salary: The academic year salary for an assistant, associate, or full teaching professor will not be less than $82,110, $84,950, or $95,764, respectively, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP – AFT) and Rutgers University.
