Medical Receptionist - Physical Therapy

Responsibilities
Answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and helpfully; screen, route calls, and create patient notes in the electronic medical record.
Serve as the first point of contact: greet, check‑in, check‑out, and provide excellent patient service.
Manage schedules and assist with insurance verification and other physical therapy insurance requirements.
Support staff by keeping the front desk organized and running smoothly.
Assist with indexing patient documents into the correct chart.
Assist with routing electronic faxes to the appropriate fax folder or uploading to the patient chart.
Perform other duties as needed during downtime.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent customer / patient service skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Working knowledge of computer programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to perform training on practice management software.
Willingness to expand knowledge of software as updates occur.
Follow all standard operating procedures.
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferred Experience
At least one year of medical office experience.
Bilingual ability is a plus.
Basic phone handling skills – contact center experience.
Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the specialty referral process.
