Job Summary The Extrusion Operator I – Day Shift is responsible for operating extrusion production lines in a safe, efficient, and quality‑focused manner in accordance with established standard operating procedures. This role works under immediate supervision and follows predefined guidelines to support consistent production output and product quality during day‑shift operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate extrusion production lines safely and according to established procedures

Secure and maintain materials and supplies required for production

Monitor equipment and feed alarms and respond to issues as they arise

Perform routine equipment checks and complete required documentation

Stack, label, band, and prepare finished product according to standards

Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality specifications are met

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Communicate production, quality, and maintenance issues during shift handoffs

Perform random quality checks and verify measurements, color, and specifications

Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and team meetings

Assist in training and mentoring Extrusion Operator Trainees as needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred

Basic math skills required

Ability to pass extrusion operator aptitude and quality assurance testing

Must be at least 18 years of age

Skills & Abilities

Ability to work safely and follow all safety procedures

Ability to recognize material quality and identify defects

Ability to perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices such as tape measures

Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues

Strong attention to detail and situational awareness

Good hand‑eye coordination

Ability to work assigned day shift hours

Ability to pass a drug test

Compensation & Benefit Information Salary Pay Range:

$18.00–$25.00 per hour dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
