Our Buffalo, New York facility is the newest and flagship location utilizing our proven and growing Surestone technology. This state‑of‑the‑art extrusion and polymer manufacturing facility relies on safe, accurate, and efficient material flow to support production and shipping operations.
Job Summary The Forklift Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials between inventory, production, and shipping areas. This role supports production schedules by ensuring timely material handling, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety and operating procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Transport raw materials from inventory to production lines as scheduled
Move work‑in‑process materials between workstations as required
Transfer finished goods from production to inventory or shipping areas
Band, wrap, package, and label materials and finished goods according to standards
Support production teams by minimizing material flow delays
Complete daily forklift inspections and required safety checklists
Maintain clean, organized warehouse and yard areas
Accurately complete production, inventory, and material movement documentation
Follow all company safety policies and forklift operating procedures
Participate in safety meetings, Continuous Improvement (CI), and team initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
Minimum 9th grade education
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to obtain forklift certification
Preferred
High school diploma or GED
Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Basic math skills and familiarity with inventory handling practices
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing, walking, and operation of powered industrial equipment
Work performed in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Additional Information
Full‑time, onsite role at the Buffalo flagship facility
Shift assignment based on business needs
Shift differential may apply for eligible shifts in accordance with company policy
Compensation & Benefit Information Salary Pay Range:
$18.00–$25.00 per hour dependent on experience (pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living)
Bonus/Incentive Pay:
A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
