Responsibilities
Under general supervision this position functions as a member of the maintenance department performing all general preventative maintenance. Performs routine maintenance on all HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Works in all areas of maintenance including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, masonry, carpentry, ventilation, and renovations. Maintains facility grounds to include mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal. Maintains detailed tool and supply inventories. Responsible for maintaining various logs, charts, and completion of purchase orders for the department. May oversee inmate work crews. Will perform other jobs as assigned. Training
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or GED or four year apprenticeship program or two year post secondary technical school. Experience
Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in heating, cooling, ventilation or the mechanical or building trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plasterer, painter, welder, machinist, mechanic or masonry work. Special Requirement
Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.
