Job Summary The Coordinator of Recruitment and Strategic Communication directs all Honors College recruitment efforts and admissions processes, manages the Honors College communication plan and strategic outreach, and coordinates activities among the Honors College, the Office of Admissions, and other campus units. The Coordinator plans, coordinates, and participates in special events, services, and activities in service of the College’s recruitment goals.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

Directs all Honors College recruitment activities, representing the College at recruitment events on and off campus and promoting the College at community/junior colleges.

Leads and trains the student recruitment team in collaboration with the Advisor for the Honors College Leadership Council.

Leads all communications initiatives related to recruitment (development and design of promotional materials, website and social media content, outreach to high ability student populations, high school counselors, etc.).

Maintains, tracks, and analyzes Honors College recruitment data in the University’s enrollment management system.

Coordinates and plans special recruitment events such as Black and Gold Day, Honors Day, Choose Honors, etc., collaborating with the Office of Admissions and other campus units as appropriate.

Oversees Honors admissions processes, to include such activities as: developing application materials, preparing applications for review, coordinating review and decision‑making processes, and planning yield activities for admitted students.

Designs and executes workshops for prospective Honors students and for Honors reviewers.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in recruitment, public relations, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Valid driver’s license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Interest in student success and mentoring undergraduates.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak effectively and professionally to a variety of audiences and to present/explain information clearly.

Ability to work independently; demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management.

Ability to engage students and their families and to create and enhance their connection to the Honors College, the Institution, and to each other.

Strategic communications skills related to planning, design, and distribution of Honors College messaging.

Ability to work effectively as a team member, flexibility in problem‑solving.

Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university; experience with college admissions and/or recruitment.
