Job Description and Duties The Benefits Services team within the Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD) is currently seeking a Software Engineer. This position is an Information Technology Specialist (ITS) I who will work in the Benefits I unit within ESDD and support the myCalPERS system.
Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the ITS I is responsible for triaging production issues and the successful resolution of defects and implementation of enhancements for the myCalPERS system. The ITS I works closely with solution architects, business analysts, developers, and testers of their own domain and other domains.
The ITS I works both independently and cooperatively with others to carry out assignments using considerable judgment to achieve objectives while following established time frames and performance standards. As necessary, the ITS I will mentor peers on innovative application development methodologies to provide quality services to customers. This position significantly utilizes Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices to maintain and enhance the myCalPERS system. The ITS I position works primarily in the Software Engineering domain.
Telework Information This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
