Department Information The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) provides retirement and health benefits to public employees, retirees, and their families. The Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD), Investment Support Section (ISS), is seeking an Information Technology Specialist III to serve as a Lead Application Architect for the INVO Data and Technology Modernization Initiative.

Job Description and Duties As IT Spec III, you will provide expert architectural guidance and technical leadership, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable investment business applications. Responsibilities include:

Creating and managing application architecture roadmaps.

Overseeing the full software development lifecycle.

Ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards.

Mastering new technologies and transitioning operational support from consultants.

Mentoring team members to build long‑term expertise within ISS.

This position offers a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where innovation and teamwork are essential.

Effective July 1, 2025 – Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) Effective July 1, 2025, each employee will receive a 3% reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. Salary ranges listed do not reflect the 3% reduction.
