Supervisor Maintenance Services

Join Ryder System, Inc. to lead a shift of up to 10 technicians, ensuring customer satisfaction while balancing financial, operational, quality, safety, and asset targets.

Summary The Supervisor supports the Manager or Senior Manager of Maintenance Services and carries out shift‑level management of operations and personnel.

The role requires cross‑functional training, adherence to Ryder Maintenance Operations policies, and may serve as a development path to the Manager position.

Essential Functions

Workflow Management: Analyze, plan, and schedule work; assign tasks to technicians; track productivity; conduct shift meetings; review and approve ROs; ensure warranty policies are executed; communicate with customers; conduct yard checks, site visits, and customer engagement.

Labor Management: Train and develop all assigned personnel; manage performance.

Customer Management: Manage relationships, resolve issues, maintain satisfaction and retention, and ensure vehicle uptime; handle customer communication protocols for PM scheduling, breakdowns, and status updates.

Financial Management: Control maintenance budget and P&L; execute initiatives to meet financial targets; handle payroll, purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, fuel reconciliation, and customer bill‑back processes; maintain data integrity in the Management Online system.

Quality Management: Inspect PM & repairs, perform in‑process reviews, conduct root‑cause analysis, implement corrective actions, maintain cleanliness and quality; coordinate with Manager on training and prioritization; oversee quality assurance and continuous improvement programs; ensure compliance with safety and EPA regulations.

Asset Management: Direct direct reports on location appearance and maintenance; recommend tooling and equipment; manage vehicle specifications and in‑service/out‑of‑service processes; oversee parts inventory and policies.

Skills & Abilities

Professional representation of Ryder and competent customer interaction (Required)

Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge (Preferred)

Understanding of labor, financial, and quality planning (Preferred)

Strong personal accountability and proven results (Preferred)

Effective verbal and written communication (Preferred)

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

Associate’s degree (Preferred)

Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

0–1 year with shop management systems (Preferred)

1–3+ years in a maintenance operations environment; Ryder role experience may substitute (Required)

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Required)

Compensation Salaried – $68,000

(minimum & maximum)
