Health and Human Resources Specialist - Health BPH - Kanawha Co. Location:

$60,000.00 - $83,000.00

Responsibilities

Enroll providers into the West Virginia Statewide Immunization Information Systems (WVSIIS).

Provide on‑site training for medical providers on how to use the immunization registry and share all features and best practices for immunization reporting.

Travel throughout the state to conduct Vaccine for Children/Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (VFC/IQIP) audits in physician offices, clinics, and hospitals.

Meet with office staff to conduct audits, review VFC program requirements, use WVSIIS data to identify needs, and assess provider immunization coverage rates.

Complete required paperwork based on office‑visit findings, and recommend continued participation or disqualification of providers from the federal program.

Constantly monitor and validate data submitted via HL7 (Health Level Seven) electronic health records so providers receive Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) funding.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Two (2) years of full‑time, equivalent part‑time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area related to this employment area.

Alternatively, a Master’s degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work program.

Post‑graduate education can substitute for experience on a basis of fifteen semester hours per year of experience.

One (1) year of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in the Health and Human Resources series may substitute for required training and experience.

Appointment above the entry rate may be increased by 5% for each six (6) months of successfully completed internship in a practicum placement with the Department of Health and Human Resources for the Master of Social Work degree.
