Base pay range $26.00/hr - $32.00/hr
Asteroid IT is a growing managed service provider supporting CPA firms, healthcare practices, and compliance-driven businesses. We are looking for a part-time MSP Support Engineer with prior MSP experience who can work independently, manage tickets responsibly, and deliver consistent, professional support without constant oversight.
This role is ideal for someone who has spent a few years in the trenches at an MSP and wants flexible, part-time work while still doing meaningful technical work.
What You’ll Do
Handle Level 1 and Level 2 support tickets across multiple client environments
Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and workstation issues
Perform user onboarding and offboarding
Support Sophos firewalls and Sophos AV/EDR environments
Assist with network troubleshooting involving HP switches and Ubiquiti equipment
Install and maintain endpoint security and monitoring agents
Assist with device deployments and light project work
Provide occasional onsite support at client offices when scheduled
Maintain clear, accurate ticket notes and documentation in ConnectWise Manage and IT Glue
Escalate issues appropriately with clear documentation when needed
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience working in an MSP environment
Comfortable handling tickets independently without micromanagement
Strong understanding of ticketing systems, SLAs, and MSP workflows
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
Familiarity with Sophos firewalls and endpoint protection
Experience with HP switches and Ubiquiti networking equipment
Solid understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
Professional communication skills with end usersOrganized, reliable, and documentation-focused
Part-time, 10–20 hours per week
Flexible scheduling, including set half-days or specific full days
Hours and workload are clearly defined and paid
No on-call requirement
