Mobile Diesel Mechanic II (Tue - Sat 2 pm - 10 pm)

Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment—including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, hydraulic, and diesel steering systems—and basic transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and test instruments.
Road‑test vehicles to verify proper function and safety.
Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle; conduct safety pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
Manage parts inventory and inventory reconciliation.
Document work in the Repair Order (RO) system via an iOS device and TRAIT application, including uploading photos of work performed.
Accurately complete DOT forms and all required documentation promptly.
Work independently, scheduling and prioritizing tasks to meet Standard Repair Times.
Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO details.
Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
Requirements & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternative: 5 years’ experience or a related degree/certification).
Possess the hand tools required for the role; supply them if not provided.
Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
Pass a DOT‐regulated pre‑employment background check and DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining).
Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
Valid DOT medical card with adequate validity or compliance with physical requirements.
