DUTIES

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutch assemblies, and differentials.

Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges) and road‑test procedures.

Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to accurately diagnose malfunctions.

Manage parts inventory on the company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.

Maintain and operate the service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.

Work independently, prioritizing tasks, balancing workload, and ensuring high productivity within standard repair times.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks to complete repair work.

Document work on Repair Orders (RO) via iOS device and the TRAIT application, uploading pictures and parts information.

Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.

Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety and environmental policies.

Procure parts from approved vendors as needed.

Communicate with management and support teams to obtain repair approvals and share findings.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent education with greater experience).

Supply a set of hand tools required for the role.

Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.

Pass DOT‑regulated background screening and physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining).

Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state driver’s license.

Maintain a Driver Qualification File and safe driving record.
