Main Responsibilities
Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement/rotation and component lubrication, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines
Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
Basic computer skills
Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations established by Penske management
Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper tool and PPE use
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Drivers must maintain a current driver qualification file per DOT requirements, including annual MVR checks, DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History. CDL holders must undergo drug screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location, complete the Penske employment application, pass a background screening (including criminal checks, past employment and education), a drug screen and physical, and potential travel within a near geography for training.
Physical Requirements
Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
Use hands regularly to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate required tools or controls
Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
Work safely in all weather conditions
See and hear clearly to navigate the workplace safely, especially around large moving trucks
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
