Job Title ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Varied Shifts
Job Type Contract
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a critical care team for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate is flexible with scheduling, highly skilled in intensive care, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients using the nursing process
Perform and assist with ICU-level procedures and patient monitoring
Accurately document patient care and outcomes using electronic medical records
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to other critical care or step-down units as needed
Unit Details
ICU with 11 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
Equipment/EMR: Meditech (unit), EPIC (facility-wide)
Dress Code: Professional scrubs
Schedule & Orientation
Must be flexible for day or night shifts based on staffing needs
3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) following orientation
Up to 40 hours of orientation during the first week
Additional requirement: 2 on-call 12-hour shifts per 4-week roster period
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience
Active Hawaii RN license (must be obtained by start of assignment if not already held)
BLS and ACLS certifications
NIH Stroke Scale certification (or ability to complete during orientation)
Additional Requirements
Ability to float to other critical care or step-down units as needed
Must arrive prior to assignment start to complete pre-employment health requirements
Holiday coverage required
