DUTIES
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Carry out minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.).
Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Identify problems and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
Manage parts inventory and reconcile company‑issued service truck supplies.
Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
Work with and listen effectively to clients, providing information or assistance to satisfy expectations.
Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time effectively.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used and all findings observed on Repair Orders (RO) using iOS device and TRAIT application.
Complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely manner.
Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary.
Communicate with management and support team via e‑mail or phone for repair estimate approvals and purchase order retrieval.
Perform all work in compliance with safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternate combinations of higher degree or 5 years’ experience acceptable).
At least 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment.
Provide a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
OEM training and certifications preferred.
ASE L2 preferred but not required.
Participate in and complete all company required training.
Must complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining may be submitted in lieu of the physical.
Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license, with ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
