Corrections Case Manager – Eastern Regional Jail, Berkeley County
Join the WV Departments of Health, Health Facilities, and Human Services for the Corrections Case Manager position at the Eastern Regional Jail in Berkeley County.
Salary: $40,702 Effective from 10/7/23, a $5,000 Critical Vacancy Pay supplement is added for all classifications within the Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility, which includes the Eastern Regional Jail. Employees receive a $250 annual base building pay differential after one year of service.
Responsibilities
Provide services to an assigned caseload of inmates in a correctional facility under general supervision.
Manage inmate overall welfare, ensuring their needs are met.
Offer individual and/or group counseling as needed.
Assist in development and implementation of treatment programs.
Develop case histories, gather collateral information on placement, treatment and court matters.
Write reports and recommendations regarding inmate behavior, placement and performance for circuit courts.
Control inmate movement and act as liaison between inmates, facility staff, legal representatives, family members, treatment providers, and court officials.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Training:
Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, guidance, criminology, social work or related field.
Substitution:
Experience in corrections programming or treatment may substitute required training on a year‑for‑year basis.
Experience:
Two years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid experience in inmate counseling, security or treatment in a correctional setting, or in counseling, guidance, as a probation and parole officer, mental health counselor or social worker.
Substitution:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral science field may substitute required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Five years of experience at a Correctional Officer 2 or higher may substitute required training and experience.
