Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
Recommend items for sale to customers and provide trade‑up or companion item suggestions.
Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, maintain records, check in and price merchandise as required.
Assist pharmacists with entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and maintaining workflow.
Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
Handle telephone calls requiring pharmacist duty and process third‑party claim corrections.
Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, superstructures, and sale merchandise.
Assist with separation of food items, product placement, and stock rotation using first‑in first‑out.
Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
Assume web pick‑up responsibilities (monitor orders, pick items, deliver to customers).
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, orderly store condition.
Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager or assigned by corporate, and acquire continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
