As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will engage in all aspects of day-to-day operations, leading guests and staff toward an outstanding experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines and achieves unit objectives.
Cultivates a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
Responds promptly to verbal guest complaints and corrects issues.
Prioritises guest contact and completes required table visits per Flynn Applebee’s standards.
Maintains departmental inventory levels.
Performs line checks to meet company standards for product preparation and presentation.
Schedules employees effectively to meet sales demands.
Maintains safety and security programs.
Promotes restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
Recruits and refers potential team members and management candidates.
Trains new managers following Flynn Applebee’s procedures.
Balances employment orientation, training sessions, and performance documentation.
Orders development of employees through one‑on‑one meetings and written evaluations.
Provides fair feedback and development support.
Monitors employee performance and documents disciplinary situations.
Ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
Controls cost in the assigned department.
Complies with local, state and federal laws.
Completes bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories per request.
Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
Maintains sanitation standards per Health Department and Flynn standards.
Provides a role model for managers and employees.
Develops proficiency in store technology.
Works in all positions as needed, including line cooking, expo, seating, bartending, etc.
Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth.
Education and Experience
At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications (plus).
Compensation Applebee’s® Assistant Managers: $18.18 to $25.71 per hour (approximately $51,994 to $73,530 annually based on a 50‑hour work week). Potential for monthly bonus where applicable.
Competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, paid vacation, paid sick leave.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and move well for up to ten (10) hours.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Read and write to facilitate communication.
Hand dexterity for small tools and equipment.
