Position Description As an Applebee’s Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day‑to‑day restaurant operations. You will lead the team, solve problems, manage stress, and ensure guests and staff have a passionate experience every day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure timely, friendly service in accordance with company guidelines and unit objectives.
Cultivate a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
Respond immediately to guest complaints and correct them.
Prioritize guest contact with required table visits per Flynn standards.
Maintain departmental inventory levels.
Perform line checks to meet uncompromising product preparation and presentation standards.
Solve employee scheduling to meet sales demand.
Maintain effective safety and security programs.
Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Report needed repairs to General Manager/Area Director.
Recruit and refer potential team and management candidates.
Promote Flynn Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
Support staff training through orientation, meetings, and policy implementation.
Use One‑on‑One and performance documentation to develop employees.
Provide fair feedback and work with employees on development.
Monitor employee performance and document required disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
Control costs in the assigned department.
Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
Drive bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested.
Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
Maintain sanitation standards to exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s requirements.
Act as a role model for managers and employees.
Develop proficiency with all store technology.
Work in all positions, including line cooking, expo, seating, and bartending, when needed.
Use the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth.
Education and Experience
At least 2‑3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications (plus).
Compensation Assistant Managers earn $18.18 to $25.71 per hour (approximately $51,994 to $73,530 annually based on a 50‑hour week). Monthly bonuses may apply, depending on location. Competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, paid vacation, and paid sick leave are also offered.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and move efficiently for up to ten hours.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Read, write, and use small tools and equipment.
