Patient Access Representative

Job Summary The Patient Access Representative thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with professionals in neurology, pain management, chiropractic, physical therapy and many more. The role is cross‑trained in all clinical administrative processes, including answering phones, checking patients in and out, performing patient reminder calls, and entering information into the EMR. The Representative is required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times and demonstrate superior customer service skills focusing on patient/customer satisfaction.
Pay Range $17.00/hr – $17.00/hr. This range reflects the expected pay based on skills and experience.

Duties
Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and polite manner
Provides solutions for customers; troubleshoots as needed
Performs data entry through Electronic Medical Record system
Maintains medical records and patient confidentiality
Performs insurance verification as needed and directed
Answers phone calls in a friendly and helpful manner
Registers patients and schedules appointments as directed
Multitasks and moves between responsibilities in a fluid manner
Adheres to department standards and PolicyStat policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Able to provide eligibility for employment for any U.S. employer
High school diploma or GED required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field desired
6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred
Previous experience performing insurance verification is a plus
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Detail oriented, conscientious and committed to precision in work results
Ability to relate to and work effectively with a wonderfully diverse populace
Exceptional phone and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computers, preferably strong typing and desktop navigational skills
Ability to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid manner
Ability to independently problem solve
Great data entry skills
Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
Friendly, empathetic & respectful
Reliable in work results, timeliness & attendance
Able to work in a fast‑paced, and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
