Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Salt Lake City, UT.

Salary & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $41.46 per hour
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Schedule: Monday – Friday. Weekends OFF.
Hours: Second Shift Monday – Thursday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Responsibilities
SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required by fleet mix
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
Standard and preventive maintenance
Complex repairs with minimal support
Use of internal and external maintenance documents
Diagnostics and repairs of complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software
Remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solutions for roadside breakdowns
Facility maintenance duties
Interaction with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature
Instruction and advice to other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
Coaching/mentoring other level technicians
Advice to shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
Use of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Compliance with federal/provincial/corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
Diagnostics and repairs of AC, electrical systems
Advanced skilled level repairs including major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs
Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
All other certifications as required by location, required
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all T3 tasks
Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Availability for shift work/weekends and on‑call duty as required
Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, Electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
Minimum tool requirement
Vehicle road‑testing as necessary
Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others
