Bi‑Vocational Pastor
Position Overview
We are prayerfully seeking a bi‑vocational pastor to lead our church family in worship, discipleship, and outreach. The pastor will serve as both shepherd and teacher—encouraging believers, equipping the church for ministry, and reaching the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Primary Responsibilities
Faithfully preach and teach the whole Word of God.
Provide pastoral care through visitation, counseling, and prayer.
Lead and nurture spiritual growth within the congregation.
Engage actively in community outreach and local missions.
Offer leadership and vision to help the church grow in faith and service.
Qualifications
A clear calling to pastoral ministry and a heart for small‑church ministry.
Agreement with the beliefs and mission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Strong communication and relational skills.
Experience in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care preferred.
Bi‑vocational flexibility and commitment to long‑term ministry encouraged.

This will be the first time filling a full‑time role specifically focused on students of middle and high school students at Lebanon Baptist Church. It is a great opportunity for someone to come in with a fresh approach to ministry and begin building upon a solid foundation. Engaging students with the Word of God is at the core of their desires, and they are excited to see how this person will help parents shape the spiritual growth and development of students. The Senior Pastor at Lebanon has been leading this church for over 25 years and is eager to see someone develop a strategy for discipling students from conversion to reproducing disciple‑makers. This role will also include general church administrative tasks on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and coordinate the student ministry with a focus on biblical education and developing a biblical worldview.
Promote, plan, and direct Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible studies.
Develop and promote outreach with the goal of engaging students to become proactive in evangelism to reach their friends and family for Christ.
Develop a student ministry communication and promotion strategy.
Along with other staff, perform general office work, including record keeping, creation of various reports as requested, preparing and printing weekly church bulletin, and managing church calendar of events.
Preferred: Some ministry experience, administrative experience.

John’s Creek Baptist Church – Youth Pastor About the Ministry The youth ministry serves students from 6th through 12th grades. There are currently 56 youth on the rolls, with about 25 participating in a typical week. The ministry has strong traditions in its Sunday school and Sunday night grow groups, and retreats are a core component. The ministry benefits from a dedicated space that is attractive, well‑maintained, and includes youth-friendly furniture, games, and a dedicated worship space.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate demonstrates a sincere love for youth, has a "growth mindset", and high emotional intelligence. JCBC is looking for a proactive, self-starting team player who can think strategically and build sustainable systems, not just a "pied piper".
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic plan for youth ministry, providing leadership and oversight for all programming while modeling spiritual maturity and pastoral care.
Volunteer & Team Development: Recruit, equip, train, and supervise adult volunteers and a Ministry Assistant, while partnering with the Youth Council to implement the ministry vision.
Program Management: Ensure the continuation and spiritual focus of all youth programming (weekly, retreats, mission trips) through volunteer leadership, while maintaining accurate records and communication.
Family & Congregational Integration: Partner with parents as primary faith influencers and integrate youth into the broader congregational life through intergenerational ministry and collaboration with other staff.
Administration: Prepare and manage the annual youth ministry budget, maintain facilities and resources, and participate in weekly staff meetings, planning sessions, and churchwide events.
Qualifications
Master’s-level theological degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred.
Minimum of three years of experience in congregational ministry.
Demonstrated ability to teach, lead, and connect with adolescents and parents.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to the theological and cultural values of Johns Creek Baptist Church.
Demonstrates emotional maturity, self‑awareness, and strong relational intelligence.
