Job Classification:
Information Technology Specialist I
Salary:
$6,513.00 – $10,537.00 per month (annual ranges by classification level).
Location:
Sacramento Headquarters, Hybrid Telework. Eligible employees must reside in California.
Working Conditions:
Fast‑paced environment, competing priorities.
Schedule: Regular business hours 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; may work weekends, irregular hours, after‑hours, and holidays.
Travel: Statewide overnight travel possible.
Cell phone and availability outside normal hours may be required.
Responsibilities:
Organize, propose, produce, test, and adapt data and information assets between business needs and technical activity for the California State Lottery.
Analyze Lottery gaming and business data, develop data specifications and information standards.
Create analytical data models and conceptual database designs.
Collaborate with users and developers on data collection, storage, integration, and utilization in data systems.
Additional duties may be assigned in other domains as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Information Technology Specialist I classification experience and required exam.
Desirable Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication; facilitation and presentation skills.
Expert knowledge of data analytics methodologies, ETL, data quality, data warehousing.
Experience in business intelligence or cloud‑based application development with Microsoft Data Analytics tools.
Experience documenting business requirements, test plans, mockups, visualizations.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to adjust to changing priorities.
Ability to work independently as a technical specialist.
Professional certifications such as CBAP, Microsoft Certified Data Analyst, PMI‑PBA, SQL, Lean Six Sigma, PMP.
