Retail Assistant Branch Manager – Woodforest National Bank

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Retail Branch Manager in achieving branch sales and revenue goals by proactively identifying, marketing, and recommending banking products and services to customers.

Serve as a "Keeper of the Woodforest Culture," creating energy around retail objectives and initiatives.

Develop and lead innovative strategies to grow, retain, and deepen consumer and business relationships.

Grow business deposits and loans through inside and outside business calling.

Enhance customer experience by warmly greeting, engaging, and developing relationships with customers, community members, and retail partners.

Embrace a technology‑driven customer experience.

Partner with the Community Development Relationship Manager to execute community engagement strategies.

Inspire and coach team members to reach their full potential and act as a positive role model.

Perform branch servicing duties such as cash and vault balancing, ordering cash and cards, producing reports, conducting audits and control checks, maintaining ATMs, and cleaning work areas.

Practice prudent expense management and branch security procedures, protecting customer confidentiality and privacy.

Address customer questions and concerns by telephone and in person or refer to appropriate internal resources with ownership until final resolution.

Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to perform all other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities

Exhibit operational excellence through diligent adherence to policies and procedures.

Actively maintain the highest level of confidentiality, follow directions, and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Familiarity with financial statements and credit reports.

Strong confidentiality practices and adherence to policies and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

3 years of relevant and transferable sales and/or customer service experience.

OR Associate’s degree and 2 years of relevant sales and/or customer service experience.

OR Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant sales and/or customer service experience.

Demonstrable leadership ability and experience. Prior supervisory experience is helpful.

Previous in‑store banking experience is preferred, but not required.

Positive, engaging demeanor.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Travel: Up to 25% or more outside of branch as needed.

Working Conditions: Standing most of the time, walking, moving, bending, stooping or sitting for brief periods, and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: Mentor or lead a team of more junior staff, but not typically formal management responsibility for personnel decisions.

Work Status: Full‑time.
