Job Responsibilities

Operates medium equipment on the Hot Crew, such as, but not limited to Aggregate Spreader, Belt Loader, Combination Tractor with Side Mounted Mower, Large Roller, Skid Steer Loader, Tandem Dump Truck, and Tractor with Large Mower. Performs traffic control operations for work zones, to include flagging traffic for the safety of the crew and the public, during various phases of roadway maintenance. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance tasks as clearing of tight-of-ways, clearing drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, paving driveways, laying side line/cross line pipe, grading and setting forms, laying bricks/blocks, repairing and building, pouring/finishing concrete/cement for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, catch basins, etc. Assists in Emergency Operations and being on call for after hour emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Requirement
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping and physically manipulating objects of varying size, shape, weight, and material. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This position requires walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, and working in close proximity to motoring traffic and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. Frequently exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions, noise, and oil or grease on a daily basis. Additional Comments
