Description of Work This specialized position focuses on protecting environmental and public health. The employee provides essential support to the Bureau of Safe Drinking Water (BSDW), conducting advanced administrative and technical reviews related to certification services for the State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Operator Certification program, autonomous assessment of intricate applications (including upgrades and reciprocity), interaction with the public, professional organizations, and personnel from water and wastewater facilities, and close collaboration with the Administrative Officer 2 to make informed decisions regarding applications. The employee also coordinates daily operations of the Operator Certification Section to achieve program objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment
Work hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break
Telework: Up to 3 days per week from home with a securely configured high‑speed internet connection; otherwise, office attendance in Harrisburg is required. Telework availability may change.
Salary: Starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes) for new Commonwealth employees

Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Three years of advanced clerical or para‑professional work involving the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program‑related information; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate’s Degree may substitute for two years of required experience.

Must satisfy PA residency requirement.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
