This position provides support to students, staff and administrators with purchasing related functions such as placing orders, receiving food and non-food products for MCI, Tuyo and Café student labs. What you will be doing
Assists with purchasing requests including materials, parts, supplies, food, wine equipment and other commodities for MCI Assists with processing shipping and receiving orders of merchandise such as uniforms, knives, food and non-food items for all MCI areas and special events Outsources products to all learning culinary labs and storage areas Assists in maintaining inventory control database Builds and stocks carts for labs based on requisitions and restocks par levels Assists with preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports of purchase transactions Cleans and organizes inventory in kitchen labs, coolers and freezers and receiving and purchasing areas Assists with student colloquiums, cooking demos, student competitions and special culinary events Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Ability to communicate clearly and concise, verbally and in written format to groups and individual Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. Possess effective work practices such as correct storage, handling, use and disposable procedures of various chemicals Ability to work in high and low temperatures environment and stand for four (4) to five (5) consecutive hours a day Possess excellent organizational skill Ability to effectively coordinate the workload for various simultaneous tasks Ability to create and maintain records, enter and retrieve large amounts of data Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Additional Requirements
