Special Education Teacher – Low Incidence & Intensive Support (Pre‑K–12)
Locations: North Charleston, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant & Southwest Charleston, SC. In‑Person | Current School Year – Starting January.
We are partnering with supportive school districts across the greater Charleston, South Carolina area to hire Special Education Teachers to support students in low‑incidence and intensive developmental support settings across Pre‑K through 6th grade. These full‑time, in‑person roles are ideal for educators passionate about working with students with significant needs in highly structured, supportive environments.
Position Highlights
Full‑time Special Education Teacher positions (Pre‑K–12)
School‑based, in‑person roles in North Charleston, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, and Southwest Charleston
Up to $54/hour, weekly pay based on experience
Competitive weekly compensation
Tax‑free travel stipends available for those who qualify
Medical, dental, and vision benefits available
Supportive school leadership and collaborative multidisciplinary teams
Contract roles with strong renewal potential
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction for students with low‑incidence disabilities and intensive developmental needs
Implement highly structured instructional and behavioral support programs
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Differentiate curriculum using evidence‑based strategies and adaptive supports
Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, and families
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
Support students’ academic, functional, behavioral, and social‑emotional development
Qualifications
Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license or eligibility
Experience working in low‑incidence, self‑contained, or intensive support settings preferred
Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to student‑centered, inclusive, and trauma‑informed practices
