Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that hotel guest room quality exceeds expectations by managing the graded room inspection program and the housekeeping variance program through coaching and discipline.
Inspect rooms already inspected to improve the performance of hotel room inspectors; conduct training, coaching, discipline as needed.
Manage the Graded Room Inspection program by recording the results and ensuring that room inspectors perform them on a timely and fair basis.
Personally inspect all VIP guest rooms and ensure their requests are completed.
Inspect guest common areas to improve the performance of house attendants.
Research guest recoveries and complaints to correct the source of the service failure.
Implement plans for all housekeeping team members as directed by the Executive Housekeeper, the General Manager, and the Director of Hotel Operations; communicate priority department guest and group developments.
Assist the Room Inspectors in daily opening and closing operations and morning briefings.
Monitor the daily laundry process to ensure quality production that is timely and efficient; provide direction to laundry leads and laundry attendants as needed.
Perform monthly linen inventories at both hotels and provide a recap of current monthly inventory levels and ordering needs.
Assist the Executive Housekeeper in ordering hotel supplies as needed and within budget.
Manage the Recognition and Retention program to improve the performance and morale of all housekeeping team members.
Prepare weekly department schedules to meet business demand and meet labor budget limitations.
Track weekly labor hours to stay within budget and maintain the daily guest room attendant labor report to identify guest room attendant productivity issues and address them.
Assist the Executive Housekeeper in all training efforts and professional development of housekeeping team members, including the completion of Casino Essentials of all team members.
Conduct safety audits of the hotel and ensure that all team members follow proper safety procedures; address all unsafe conditions.
Follow the Thoughtful Service model at all times.
Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana Evansville’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Must be available for regularly scheduled work and able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist with the direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
Carry out shift management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Qualifications Education and Experience Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience or training. One to three years’ experience in hotel guest room service and/or hotel operations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming License.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office products; strong skills in Microsoft Excel preferred.
