Here’s a summary of responsibilities: Cleans, maintains, sets up and breaks down all designated areas, rooms and equipment. Performs all housekeeping, custodial and general maintenance duties. Monitors safety systems for OPTC.

Here’s how you’ll have an impact:

Maintains the cleanliness and order in all areas of assigned guest/dorm rooms, housing areas, meeting rooms, office, hallways, work rooms, common areas and/or recreation facilities according to department standards, to include some or all of the following performed routinely or as usage requires:

Guest/Dorm Rooms:

Strips and remakes beds

Removes soiled linen to designated areas

Sweeps and mops floors

Vacuums, shampoos and extracts rugs

Removestrash andrecyclablestodesignated areas

Washes windows, mirrors and walls

Dusts furniture, lamps and horizontal surfaces

Replaces towels, soap, glasses, toilet tissue, and other supplies

Housing areas, meeting rooms, offices, hallways, works rooms, common areas and/or recreation facilities:

Sweeps and mops floors

Shampoos and extracts rugs

Removestrash and recyclablestodesignated areas

Washes trash cans and racks as needed

Washes windows, mirrors and walls

Dusts furniture, lamps and horizontal surfaces

Cleans restrooms, janitor closets, laundry rooms, lounges, stairs, foyers, landings and storage areas

Replaces soap, toilet tissue, paper towels

Movesfurniture and equipment for cleaning purposes or relocation to another area, as required

Laundry: Operates commercial laundry equipment. Launders linens, pads, blankets, bedspreads and curtains as required. Performs ironing and sewing when needed. Changes solution chemical products for laundry machines. Cleans lint compartment in dryers and report equipment breakdowns to Maintenance team.

Lighting:Changeslight bulbs andfluorescent fixture as required.

Set up, arrange,and take down furniture and equipment for all meeting and conference rooms adhering to fire and safety codes.

Performs general maintenance tasks.

Performs snow removal as required.

Makesproper decisions under varying situations, making necessary notifications according to set procedures.

Performs required record keeping neatly, accurately and on time.

Identifies and promptly reports safety hazards and building and equipment maintenance requirements according to established procedures. Makes visual checks for fire hazards in and around buildings and checks building equipment such as annunciator panels, fire extinguishers, pumps, etc. Assists with medical emergencies after hours alerting on-call medical staff.

Maintains a professional demeanor. Is punctual, neat and clean in personal appearance. Contributes to a positive working environment.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

High school graduate or GED preferred

3 years of experience in building cleaning

Knowledge of types of meeting room setups, including A/V equipment

Here are the tools, equipment, & conditions:

Frequently moves and transports equipment, furniture and supplies weighing up to 35 lbs.

Frequently moves about to clean a variety of areas

Occasionally ascends/descends a 4-6 foot ladder to accomplish low and high cleaning areas

Hours and shifts may vary and overtime may be required

Able to work as scheduled during the week, including weekends and holidays

Must be able to work both inside and outside complex through all types of weather conditions applicable to the northeast

Must be able to be flexible in job assignments as needed

General maintenance and cleaning equipment/tools, such as floor machine, carpet extractor, tractor, snow blower, drill, screwdriver, hammer (regular), vise grips, etc.

Regular attendance at work is an essential job function

Here's some more information you need to know:

Hiring pay is $18.50 per hour.

This Full-Time, Non-Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.

Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 5% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
